The GENERIC / UNBRANDED dc-cat6-p-orang is a 1000-foot pull-box reel of Category 6 unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable rated for plenum air-handling spaces. It uses 23 AWG solid copper conductors arranged in four pairs, enclosed in a CMP-rated jacket that meets strict fire and smoke propagation requirements for plenum installations. The orange jacket provides clear visual identification on the job, supporting cable management in high-density environments. This cable supports data, voice, and Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications across full horizontal-run distances without signal degradation. Licensed low-voltage and structured-cabling installers are the primary trade for this product.
This cable is suited for commercial offices, data centers, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and any structured cabling project that requires plenum-rated horizontal runs. The 1000-foot continuous pull-box format reduces the need for mid-run splices, which is critical in large-scale deployments where link integrity and cable plant documentation matter. The orange jacket color is commonly used to designate specific network segments or VLAN assignments in organized cabling schemes, making it a practical choice for structured infrastructure projects that follow TIA-606 labeling and color-coding standards.
Designed as a standard Cat 6 UTP plenum horizontal cable compatible with 8P8C (RJ45) keystone jacks, patch panels, and modular plugs that terminate 23 AWG solid conductors per TIA-568 wiring standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or structured-cabling technician in accordance with ANSI/TIA-568 standards and applicable local fire and building codes. CMP-rated cable is required by the NEC in plenum air-handling spaces and must not be substituted with CMR or CM-rated cable in those environments. Pull tension and bend radius limits must be observed during installation to prevent damage to the twisted pairs and maintain Cat 6 performance. Terminate both ends using 568-A or 568-B wiring schemes consistently throughout the installation.
