The DAYTON LAMINA HRT75 is an alloy steel mold punch retainer designed for use in progressive die and stamping tooling applications. Part of the Heavy Duty (HRT) Series, it uses a ball lock mechanism to secure punches reliably under high-cycle press conditions. The retainer features a 0.75-inch shank diameter and a base measuring 2.375 inches in length by 2.34 inches in width by 1.625 inches in height. Thread size is 3/8-16. At 1 pound, it delivers a solid, rigid mount point for punch assemblies handled by tool and die makers and press room technicians.
This punch retainer is suited for use in progressive dies, compound dies, and transfer tooling in metal stamping operations. It is typically installed in die sets within production press environments, both short-run and high-volume. The ball lock design allows repeatable punch removal and reinstallation without disturbing alignment, making it a practical choice for operations that require frequent punch changes or maintenance access.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit component for heavy duty series mold punch retainer applications in progressive and compound die tooling setups.
Installation is typically performed by a qualified tool and die maker or toolroom technician. Before servicing any die set, the press must be locked out and blocked in accordance with OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify that the shank diameter, thread size, base dimensions, and dowel diameter match the existing die block before installation. Do not force-fit the retainer into an undersized pocket, as this may compromise alignment and punch retention integrity.
