The DAYTON LAMINA HRT50 is an alloy steel mold punch retainer designed for precision tooling applications in progressive die and stamping operations. It features a 0.5-inch shank diameter and a ball-lock retention mechanism, which secures the punch quickly and reliably without additional fasteners. The base measures 2 inches in length, 1.97 inches in width, and 1.625 inches in height. Thread size is 3/8-16. This retainer is part of the Heavy Duty HRT Series and is installed by tool and die makers or press room technicians working with production stamping dies.
The HRT50 is suited for use in mold and die assemblies where repeatable punch positioning and fast changeover are required. The ball-lock design allows punches to be swapped without disassembling the retainer from the die plate, making it a practical choice for high-cycle production tooling. A 0.25-inch dowel diameter and a punch-shank-to-dowel length of 1.18 inches support precise alignment within the die set.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit component for progressive die and stamping tooling assemblies requiring a 0.5-inch shank, 3/8-16 thread mold punch retainer in the Heavy Duty HRT Series configuration.
Installation is performed by qualified tool and die makers or press room technicians. The die set must be fully de-energized and the press locked out before any punch retainer service. Ensure the shank and ball-lock mechanism are clean and free of debris before seating the punch. Verify dowel alignment with the die plate before securing the retainer.
