The DAYTON LAMINA 9-3216-11 is a light-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, press tooling, and metal fabrication equipment. Built from chromium-vanadium steel, this spring features a 2-inch hole diameter, a 1-inch rod diameter, and a 4-inch free length. It carries a maximum deflection load of 822 pounds and a maximum deflection of 1.61 inches, delivering consistent force across its rated travel. The D-shaped wire profile helps maintain uniform seating inside die sets and tooling plates. Tool and die makers, mold makers, and press maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this component.
This spring is suited for light-duty cycling applications in stamping presses, injection molds, and progressive die tooling found in both job shop and production manufacturing environments. The green color coding follows the ISO 10243 international standard for spring load identification, allowing technicians to quickly identify spring grade during die setup or changeout. Maximum operating deflection is rated at 40 percent of free length, and travel to solid load is 1.98 inches.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for light-duty die springs used in stamping dies, progressive tooling, and mold assemblies conforming to ISO 10243 standard spring pocket dimensions with a 2-inch hole diameter and 1-inch rod diameter.
Die springs are installed and replaced by tool and die makers or press maintenance personnel. Always relieve all press and die pressure before removing or installing springs. Confirm the spring pocket depth and rod clearance match the free length and rod diameter before installation. Never compress a die spring beyond its rated maximum operating deflection, as exceeding this limit accelerates fatigue failure.
