The DAYTON LAMINA 9-2408-26 is a heavy-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, press tooling, and industrial mold assemblies. It features a 1-1/2 inch hole diameter, a 3/4 inch rod diameter, and a 2 inch free length. Built from chromium-vanadium steel with a D-shaped wire profile, this spring delivers a maximum deflection load of 1,253 pounds at 0.6 inches of maximum deflection. The red color coding identifies it as a heavy-duty spring per ISO 10243 classification. Toolmakers, die setters, and maintenance technicians working in metal stamping and forming environments are the primary installers.
This die spring is suited for heavy-load applications in industrial press tooling, stamping dies, injection molds, and progressive die sets where consistent, high-force return pressure is required. Its 30 percent maximum operating deflection rating and travel to solid load of 0.65 inches make it appropriate for applications demanding reliable cycling performance under sustained compression loads. It is used in both automotive tooling environments and general industrial die applications where NAAMS-compliant components are specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct fitment die spring for heavy-duty stamping dies, press tooling, and industrial mold assemblies requiring a 1-1/2 inch hole diameter and 3/4 inch rod diameter with a 2 inch free length.
Die springs should be installed by qualified toolmakers or die maintenance technicians familiar with press tooling procedures. Always de-energize and lock out the press before removing or installing die springs. Inspect the mating rod and bore for burrs or wear that could cause uneven loading or premature spring failure. Do not exceed the rated maximum deflection of 0.6 inches during operation, as compressing beyond the design limit accelerates fatigue and reduces service life.
