The DAYTON LAMINA 9-2018-26 is a heavy-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, punch presses, and precision tooling applications. Built from chromium-vanadium steel with a D-shaped wire cross-section, it delivers consistent, reliable force under cyclic compression loads. Key dimensions include a 1-1/4 inch hole diameter, a 5/8 inch rod diameter, and a 4-1/2 inch free length. The spring carries a maximum deflection load of 817 pounds at 1.35 inches of travel, with a maximum operating deflection of 30 percent. Red color coding identifies it as a heavy-duty load rating per ISO 10243 standards. It is installed by tool and die makers, press operators, and maintenance technicians working on metal forming and stamping equipment.
This die spring is suited for use in industrial punch and die sets, stripper plates, and spring-loaded tooling assemblies. Its chromium-vanadium steel construction and ISO 10243 compliance make it appropriate for high-cycle production stamping environments where consistent spring force and dimensional repeatability are required. The 5/8 inch rod diameter and 1-1/4 inch hole diameter accommodate standard die set configurations. It is also applicable in automotive tooling programs that follow NAAMS specifications.
Designed as an ISO 10243-compliant heavy-duty die spring for use in standard punch and die tooling assemblies with a 1-1/4 inch hole diameter and 5/8 inch rod diameter. Compatible with NAAMS-compliant tooling programs.
Die spring installation and replacement should be performed by qualified tool and die technicians or maintenance personnel with the press fully de-energized, ram blocked, and all stored energy released before any work begins. Inspect the spring pocket, rod, and bore for wear, scoring, or misalignment prior to installation, as these conditions accelerate fatigue failure. Do not exceed the rated maximum operating deflection of 30 percent during setup. Springs showing permanent set, cracking, or corrosion should be replaced immediately and not returned to service.
