The DAYTON LAMINA 9-2007-36 is an extra heavy-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, press tooling, and precision metal-forming equipment. Manufactured from chromium-vanadium steel with a D-shaped wire profile, this spring delivers a maximum deflection load of 1000 pounds at 0.43 inches of travel. It features a 1-3/4 inch free length, a 1-1/4 inch hole diameter, and a 5/8 inch rod diameter. The yellow color coding identifies the extra heavy-duty duty rating at a glance, following standard die spring classification conventions. This part is installed by tool-and-die technicians, press operators, and maintenance machinists in production manufacturing environments.
This die spring is suited for high-load, short-stroke applications in stamping and forming dies where consistent spring force and reliable cycle life are required. The D-shaped wire cross-section maximizes load capacity within the coil space and resists rotation during compression. Typical installations include blanking dies, forming dies, and progressive die assemblies in both job-shop and high-volume production settings. With a maximum operating deflection of 25 percent of free length, this spring is designed to operate within safe working limits when installed correctly in a guided die set.
Designed as an ISO 10243 standard die spring for use in any die set or press tooling application requiring a 1-1/4 inch hole diameter and 5/8 inch rod diameter mounting configuration.
Die spring installation and replacement should be performed by qualified tool-and-die technicians or maintenance machinists with the press locked out and all stored energy released per OSHA lockout-tagout procedures. Always seat the spring squarely on the rod or in the pocket and verify the spring is not compressed beyond the rated maximum operating deflection during normal press stroke. Do not grind or modify the spring ends, as this alters the load rating and reduces fatigue life. Inspect mating rod and hole surfaces for wear or burrs before installing a replacement spring.
