The DAYTON LAMINA 9-1610-26 is a heavy-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, press tooling, and industrial mold assemblies. It features a 1-inch hole diameter, a 0.5-inch rod diameter, and a free length of 2.5 inches. Manufactured from chromium-vanadium steel with a D-shaped wire cross-section, this spring delivers a maximum deflection load of 522 pounds at 0.76 inches of travel. The red color coding indicates heavy-duty load classification per ISO 10243, making it straightforward to identify and spec during tooling setup or maintenance. Toolmakers, die setters, and press room technicians are the primary installers.
This die spring is suited for applications in stamping dies, injection molds, and progressive tooling where consistent, repeatable spring force is required. The heavy-duty rating makes it appropriate for high-load press operations in both automotive and general industrial manufacturing environments. It carries a maximum operating deflection of 30 percent of free length, with travel to solid at 0.83 inches. The NAAMS compliance makes it a direct fit for North American automotive metric tooling programs.
Designed for use in stamping dies, progressive dies, injection molds, and similar tooling assemblies requiring a 1-inch hole diameter and 0.5-inch rod diameter heavy-duty die spring conforming to ISO 10243 and NAAMS specifications.
Die springs are installed by toolmakers or die setters during die build or maintenance, typically with the press locked out and all energy isolated per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the mating rod and pocket diameters are within tolerance before seating the spring to prevent side-loading and premature fatigue. Do not compress the spring beyond the travel-to-solid dimension of 0.83 inches during setup or operation. Inspect springs regularly for set, cracking, or discoloration, and replace as a matched set when multiple springs are used in the same die.
