The DAYTON LAMINA 9-1208-21 is a medium-duty die spring manufactured from chromium-vanadium steel and color-coded blue for quick load identification in tooling applications. It features a 3/4 inch hole diameter, a 3/8 inch rod diameter, and a 2 inch free length. The spring delivers a maximum deflection load of 167 pounds at 0.75 inches of maximum deflection, with a travel to solid load of 0.81 inches and a maximum operating deflection of 37.50 percent. The D-shaped wire cross-section increases contact area and load capacity compared to round wire springs of the same size. Licensed machinists, tool and die makers, and press maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this component.
This die spring is designed for use in stamping dies, punch presses, injection molds, and similar industrial tooling where controlled, repeatable spring force is required. The blue color coding indicates a medium-duty load range, making it suitable for moderate-force stripping, pressure pads, and guided return applications in both production and prototype tooling environments. It is sized for standard die sets where a 3/4 inch bore and 3/8 inch rod guide are specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct fitment die spring for industrial tooling applications requiring a 3/4 inch hole diameter, 3/8 inch rod diameter, and 2 inch free length in the medium-duty blue load category per ISO 10243 sizing standards.
Die spring replacement and installation is performed by qualified tool and die technicians or press maintenance personnel. Always de-energize and lock out the press or tooling before servicing any spring component. Springs must be seated squarely on the rod and in the pocket to prevent lateral loading and premature failure. Do not compress a die spring beyond its rated maximum operating deflection, as exceeding this limit will reduce service life significantly.
