The DAYTON LAMINA 9-1006-36 is an extra heavy-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, molds, and press tooling where consistent, high-force resistance is required. Built from chromium-vanadium steel with a D-shaped wire cross-section, it delivers a maximum deflection load of 162.00 pounds at 0.37 inches of travel. The yellow color coding identifies it as an extra heavy-duty rated spring per ISO 10243 classification. With a free length of 1-1/2 inches, a hole diameter of 5/8 inch, and a rod diameter of 11/32 inch, this spring is sized for precise fitment in standard die sets. Toolmakers, moldmakers, and die maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
This spring is suited for industrial stamping, progressive die, and injection mold applications where sustained compressive loads and repeatable deflection performance are critical. The extra heavy-duty duty rating makes it appropriate for high-cycle press environments. Maximum operating deflection is rated at 25 percent of free length, with a travel-to-solid measurement of 0.46 inches. It is manufactured to ISO 10243 international standard and meets ISO 9001:2015 quality registration requirements, as well as NAAMS (North American Automotive Metric Standard) specifications, making it a fit for automotive tooling programs.
Designed as a standard replacement or original-fit die spring for extra heavy-duty stamping dies, progressive dies, and injection molds requiring a 5/8 inch hole diameter and 11/32 inch rod diameter at 1-1/2 inches free length, conforming to ISO 10243 dimensional standards.
Die springs of this type are installed by toolmakers or die maintenance technicians with the press de-energized and all stored energy released before disassembly. Ensure the mating hole and rod diameters match the spring specifications before installation to prevent binding or premature fatigue. Do not operate the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection of 0.37 inches, as exceeding travel limits accelerates fatigue failure. Consult applicable tooling drawings and press safety lockout procedures before performing any die work.
