The DAYTON LAMINA 9-1005-11 is a light-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, punch press tooling, and similar precision metalworking fixtures. It features a 0.625-inch hole diameter, an 11/32-inch rod diameter, and a 1.25-inch free length, making it a compact spring suited for tight tooling envelopes. Constructed from chromium-vanadium steel, it delivers consistent force and fatigue resistance across repeated compression cycles. The D-shaped wire profile and green color coding conform to ISO 10243 standards, allowing straightforward identification and cross-referencing in die sets. Licensed toolmakers and die maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this component.
This spring is intended for light-duty die and tooling applications where controlled deflection and repeatable load characteristics are required. It is commonly installed in progressive dies, blanking dies, and stripping plates in both production stamping and tool-room environments. The green color designation identifies it as a light-duty rating within the ISO 10243 color-coding system, a convention widely used across North American and international tooling specifications. It also meets NAAMS standards, supporting compatibility in automotive-supplier tooling programs.
Designed as an ISO 10243-compliant light-duty die spring for use in standard die spring pockets requiring a 0.625-inch hole diameter and an 11/32-inch rod diameter.
Die springs are installed and serviced by tool and die makers or qualified press maintenance technicians. Before replacing or inspecting die springs, de-energize the press, engage all mechanical safety blocks, and relieve any stored energy in the tooling. Never exceed the rated maximum operating deflection, as over-compression accelerates fatigue failure. Springs should be inspected for cracking, set, or uneven coil spacing at regular die maintenance intervals.
