The DAYTON LAMINA 6-12-24 is a steel shoulder-style die mold bushing designed to guide and locate punches, pins, or other tooling components within press die sets and mold assemblies. The body features a 1.5-inch inside diameter with a bottom outside diameter of 2.19 inches and a top outside diameter of 2 inches, making it compatible with standard die set bores. The collar outside diameter measures 2.345 inches, providing a positive seating surface against the die plate. Finished in bronze plating for wear resistance, this bushing uses a friction-type fit and is non-self-lubricating, requiring periodic lubrication as part of routine tooling maintenance. Tool and die makers and mold technicians are the primary installers.
The 6-12-24 is suited for use in progressive, compound, and transfer die sets as well as injection mold bases where demountable shoulder bushings are required. The demountable attachment method allows the bushing to be removed from the die set without destroying the surrounding plate, supporting efficient die maintenance and rebuild cycles. With 2 inches of length under the collar and 1.1875 inches above the collar, the bushing provides adequate engagement depth for standard die plate thicknesses used in light to medium stamping and molding operations.
Compatible with clamp style 6-91-1. Designed as a demountable shoulder bushing replacement for standard die sets and mold bases requiring a 1.5-inch inside diameter friction-type shoulder bushing.
Installation is typically performed by tool and die makers or mold technicians. The die set or press must be fully de-energized and the press ram blocked before any bushing service. The bushing bore and mating plate should be measured and cleaned prior to insertion to ensure proper fit and alignment. Use the designated 6-91-1 clamp for secure retention; do not substitute clamp styles, as improper retention can cause misalignment during press cycles.
