The DAP INC 8135 is a latex-based wood filler formulated to repair and restore damaged wood surfaces. It creates a surface body that looks and acts like real wood, delivering a repair reported to be three times stronger than the surrounding wood. The filler accepts stain and paint, making it suitable for finish work where appearance matters. It dries hard to a smooth surface that can be sanded, cut, planed, drilled, nailed, or screwed. Cleanup requires only soap and water while the product is still wet. Carpenters, cabinetmakers, and finish contractors are the typical installers for this type of product.
The 8135 is suited for both interior and exterior applications on wood surfaces including furniture, molding, cabinets, and plywood. It can be troweled or molded to fill cracks, gouges, holes, and other surface defects. The 8-oz container is appropriate for targeted spot repairs on smaller projects or as a jobsite complement to larger repair work. Its latex formula makes it compatible with standard latex and oil-based topcoats once fully cured.
Designed for use on furniture, molding, cabinets, plywood, and other wood surfaces in interior and exterior environments.
Application is typically performed by finish carpenters, cabinetmakers, or general contractors. Remove loose material and debris from the repair area before applying the filler. Apply with a putty knife or trowel, overfilling slightly to allow for sanding flush after drying. Keep the work area ventilated and follow local building codes for any structural repair context.
