The DAP INC 18362 is a 9 oz crystal clear, all-purpose sealant formulated with Kwik Dry technology for fast moisture exposure after application. Once applied, the cured sealant can be exposed to water in as little as 3 hours without washing out, compared to the 24 to 36 hour wait typical of standard latex and silicone caulks. It forms a permanently watertight and weather-tight seal with superior adhesion and flexibility, resisting cracking and shrinking over time. Low odor and low VOC content make it suitable for use in occupied or enclosed spaces. An application temperature range of -35 degrees F to 140 degrees F covers extreme climates and seasonal installations.
This sealant is designed for a wide range of general construction and maintenance sealing tasks. It is appropriate for both residential and light commercial work on windows, door frames, corner joints, siding, trim, butt joints, baseboards, moldings, pipes, ducts, and vents. HVAC techs, plumbers, and general contractors will find it practical for sealing penetrations and joints where fast return-to-service time matters. The crystal clear finish makes it a clean choice for visible trim and finish work. The cured sealant is mold and mildew resistant, which is especially relevant in wet or high-humidity environments such as bathrooms, mechanical rooms, and exterior wall assemblies.
Designed as an all-purpose sealant suitable for general sealing of windows, door frames, siding, trim, baseboards, moldings, pipes, ducts, and vents in residential and light commercial applications.
Surface preparation is critical — clean and dry the substrate before applying sealant to ensure full adhesion. Apply within the stated temperature range and tool the bead promptly before skinning begins. In enclosed or low-ventilation areas, provide adequate airflow even with low-VOC formulations. Follow all applicable building codes for sealant use around HVAC penetrations, fire-rated assemblies, or plumbing rough-ins.
