The DAP D7565000121 is a one-component, gun-applied polyurethane foam sealant formulated as a Type V residential fireblock product. It is designed to fill annular spaces around pipe, conduit, and other penetrations through wall and floor assemblies where approved fire blocking performance is required. The foam cures to a firm, orange-colored bead with a 2-3:1 expansion ratio, a dry time of 10 minutes, and a full cure time of 1 hour. With a VOC content of 135 g/L and a solvent odor profile, this product is intended for use by experienced trade installers in residential construction and renovation environments.
This sealant is used in residential fire-stop applications where code-approved sealing of penetrations through fire-rated assemblies is required. Typical scenarios include sealing around plumbing pipes, electrical conduit, and mechanical penetrations through wood-frame walls, floor plates, and similar assemblies. The product adheres to a wide range of common building materials and is dispensed using a standard foam gun applicator. Coverage is rated up to 3,200 linear feet depending on bead size and gap dimensions.
Designed as a gun-applied fireblock foam sealant for residential construction penetration sealing applications. Compatible with brick, concrete, drywall, glass, metal, stone, and wood substrates.
Installation should be performed by a qualified contractor or tradesperson familiar with local fire-stop and building codes, including applicable IBC and IRC fireblocking requirements. Wear appropriate PPE including gloves and eye protection, as uncured polyurethane foam is a skin and eye irritant. Apply within the recommended temperature range and allow full cure before covering or disturbing the bead. Use a compatible gun applicator and purge the can tip after each use to prevent clogging.
