The Danfoss EVR3 is a normally closed solenoid valve designed for use in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. It controls the flow of refrigerant through a circuit by opening or closing in response to an electrical signal. When the coil is de-energized, the valve stays closed, stopping refrigerant flow. When the coil receives power, the valve opens and allows refrigerant to pass through. This fail-safe normally closed design is standard in refrigeration applications where refrigerant containment is required during system shutdown or power loss.
The EVR3 features 1/4 inch ODF solder connections on both the inlet and outlet. This connection type is common in copper refrigerant line installations and allows for clean, leak-tight brazed joints. The valve body is made from brass, which offers good corrosion resistance and durability in refrigeration environments. The valve is rated for a maximum working pressure of 45.2 bar, making it suitable for use with a wide range of refrigerants and system pressures found in commercial and industrial refrigeration applications.
HVAC and refrigeration technicians use the EVR series solenoid valves in liquid lines, suction lines, and hot gas bypass circuits. The EVR3 is a compact valve suited for smaller systems or pilot duty applications. With a flow capacity of 0.27 cubic meters per hour, it is appropriate for low to medium capacity refrigeration circuits. The valve does not include a manual operation option, so all operation is electrically controlled. It is sold in a multi-pack format of 24 units, which is practical for contractors and wholesalers stocking replacement valves for service work.
The Danfoss EVR3 solenoid valve delivers reliable normally closed refrigerant flow control in a compact brass body with 1/4 inch ODF solder connections, rated to 45.2 bar for demanding refrigeration and air conditioning applications.
