The DAKOTA PLUMBING PRODUCTS DSM-6040SV is a 60/40 double-bowl undermount kitchen sink built from 16-gauge 304 stainless steel with 18/10 chrome and nickel content for long-term corrosion resistance. The Silver finish gives it a clean, contemporary look that integrates with a wide range of cabinet and countertop combinations. Micro-radius corners — approximately 15 millimeters — reduce sharp transitions, making basin wiping faster and more thorough. A rear-positioned 3.5-inch center drain on each bowl pairs with a channeled bottom that directs water away from standing positions. Plumbers and kitchen remodelers install this sink as an undermount unit, securing it below the countertop cutout for a flush, debris-free rim line.
The DSM-6040SV is designed for residential kitchen and bar installations where counter space and multitasking efficiency matter. The larger left-side bowl handles pots, sheet pans, and heavy-duty washing. The smaller right-side bowl supports prep rinsing and disposal placement. Overall dimensions of 32 inches long by 18 inches wide by 10 inches deep make this sink compatible with base cabinets 36 inches or wider. The Peacekeeper sound absorption system — thermal undercoating plus oversized dampening pads — reduces basin resonance and limits condensation buildup on the cabinet interior below. A custom-fit bottom grid (DSMZ-BG6040) and a basket strainer (DSA-PBSSS) are included.
Designed for undermount installation in residential kitchen applications requiring a 60/40 double-bowl sink; fits base cabinets 36 inches or wider. Part of the Marela collection by DAKOTA PLUMBING PRODUCTS. Included accessories are model-specific bottom grid DSMZ-BG6040 and basket strainer DSA-PBSSS.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or experienced contractor. Shut off the water supply and disconnect existing drain plumbing before beginning any sink swap or new installation. Undermount sinks require solid countertop substrate support and appropriate silicone adhesive or mounting clips rated for the countertop material — follow the countertop manufacturer's guidelines for cutout dimensions and mounting method. Verify local plumbing code requirements (IPC) for drain fitting and trap configuration before completing the rough-in.
