The DAKOTA PLUMBING PRODUCTS DSM-6040LDGBK is a 60/40 double-bowl undermount kitchen sink constructed from 16-gauge 304 stainless steel with an 18/10 chrome/nickel composition for corrosion resistance and long-term durability. The Marela collection sink features a micro-radius corner design with 15 mm rounded corners that maximize usable bowl space while maintaining a contemporary profile. Overall dimensions are 32 inches (L) x 18 inches (W) x 10 inches (D), sized to fit standard 36-inch base cabinets. A Peacekeeper noise reduction system combines thermal undercoating with oversized sound-dampening pads to minimize operational noise and control condensation. The sink ships with a custom-fit bottom grid (DSMZ-BG6040LD) and basket strainer (DSA-PBSSS) included.
The DSM-6040LDGBK is designed for residential kitchen and bar applications where an undermount installation is specified. The 60/40 bowl configuration positions the larger bowl on the left and the smaller bowl on the right, separated by a low divide that accommodates large cookware and sheet pans while leaving the secondary bowl free for prep tasks. A rear-positioned 3.5-inch center drain feeds a channeled bottom that directs water away from the bowl floor to reduce standing water. This sink is available in a Gunmetal Black finish and is part of the Marela Shades of Steel finish collection, which also includes Satin Brushed Nickel, Silver, Copper, and Gold options.
Designed for undermount installation in standard residential kitchen cabinetry with a base cabinet size greater than 33 inches. Part of the Marela 6040LD collection by DAKOTA PLUMBING PRODUCTS.
Undermount sink installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber and requires shutting off the water supply before beginning work. The sink must be properly supported by the countertop substrate during adhesive cure and mounting clip tightening; consult the manufacturer installation guide for clip placement and sealant requirements. Drain rough-in should be verified against the rear drain position before countertop cutout is made. All plumbing connections must comply with applicable local codes and IPC guidelines.
