The DAKOTA PLUMBING PRODUCTS DSM-6040LD is a 60/40 double-bowl undermount kitchen sink made from 16-gauge 304 stainless steel with an 18/10 chrome/nickel composition. The micro-radius corner design measures 15 mm and maximizes usable bowl space while maintaining a clean, contemporary profile. A channeled bottom slopes toward a rear-positioned 3.5-inch center drain to reduce standing water. The Peacekeeper noise reduction system combines thermal undercoating with oversized sound-dampening pads to minimize vibration and condensation. This sink is installed by plumbers or experienced trade professionals in residential kitchen and bar applications where an undermount configuration is specified.
The DSM-6040LD fits standard base cabinet openings greater than 33 inches and is suited for residential kitchen and bar installations. The larger left bowl handles 60 percent of the basin volume and accommodates large cookware, while the smaller right bowl handles 40 percent and is separated by a low divide for multitask workflows. Overall dimensions are 32 inches (L) x 18 inches (W) x 10 inches (D). The Satin Brushed Nickel finish is one of five finish options in the Marela collection, which also includes Silver, Copper, Gold, and Gunmetal Black. The sink ships with a custom-fit bottom grid (DSMZ-BG6040LD) and a basket strainer (DSA-PBSSS).
Designed for undermount installation in base cabinets greater than 33 inches wide. Part of the Dakota Plumbing Products Marela collection. Included accessories are bottom grid DSMZ-BG6040LD and basket strainer DSA-PBSSS.
Undermount sink installation requires shutting off the water supply and disconnecting drain plumbing before removing an existing sink. Mounting is typically performed by a licensed plumber and requires appropriate undermount clips, silicone sealant rated for kitchen use, and countertop cutout dimensions verified against the sink specifications before cutting. Follow local plumbing code requirements for drain connections, venting, and strainer compatibility. Do not overtighten mounting hardware against stone or solid-surface countertops, as this may cause cracking.
