The DAKOTA PLUMBING PRODUCTS DSM-5050CP is a 50/50 double-bowl undermount kitchen sink from the Marela collection, finished in Copper. Constructed from 16-gauge 304 stainless steel with an 18/10 chrome-nickel composition, this sink is built for long-term corrosion resistance and everyday durability. The micro-radius corner design — with 15 mm rounded corners — delivers a clean, contemporary profile. A channeled bottom with rear-positioned drain reduces standing water, and the integrated Peacekeeper sound absorption system combines thermal undercoating with oversized sound-dampening pads to cut down on noise and prevent condensation on the cabinet interior. Licensed plumbers and kitchen remodel contractors handle installation.
The DSM-5050CP is designed for residential and light-commercial kitchen applications where undermount installation is specified. The equal 50/50 bowl layout supports multitasking workflow — prep in one bowl, rinse or load in the other simultaneously. The sink measures 32 inches in length by 18 inches in width by 10 inches in depth and requires a base cabinet of 36 inches or larger. It arrives with two custom-fit bottom grids (DSMZaBG5050) and a basket strainer (DSAaPBSSS) included in the package, reducing the need for separate accessory orders on the job.
Designed for undermount installation in base cabinets 36 inches and larger. Part of the Marela collection by DAKOTA PLUMBING PRODUCTS, also available in Gold, Gunmetal Black, Silver, and Satin Brushed Nickel finishes.
Undermount sink installation requires a licensed plumber or experienced contractor working with appropriate cabinet and countertop substrate — typically stone, solid surface, or engineered quartz that supports undermount mounting methods. Shut off the water supply and disconnect existing drain lines before removing any existing sink. Follow local plumbing codes regarding drain configuration and trap requirements. Silicone sealant and mounting hardware should be rated for undermount applications; do not rely on sealant alone without mechanical fasteners where required by the countertop material.
