The DAKOTA PLUMBING PRODUCTS DSM-2718GBK is a single-bowl undermount kitchen sink from the Marela collection, built from 16-gauge 304 stainless steel with an 18/10 chrome/nickel composition. It measures 27 inches by 18 inches by 10 inches overall, with an interior bowl of approximately 25 inches by 16 inches by 10 inches. Micro-radius corners at 15 mm keep the profile contemporary while making the interior easier to wipe down. A channeled bottom slopes toward a rear-positioned 3.5-inch center drain for fast water evacuation and minimal pooling. The sink ships with thermal undercoating and oversized sound-dampening pads as part of an integrated sound-attenuation system. Licensed plumbers and finish carpenters install this fixture as part of kitchen renovations and new construction.
The DSM-2718GBK is sized for base cabinets 30 inches and larger, making it a practical fit for standard residential kitchens and bar areas where counter space is at a premium. The Gunmetal Black finish belongs to the Shades of Steel finish family, which also includes Satin Brushed Nickel, Silver, Gold, and Copper, allowing coordination across a full suite of fixtures. The rear drain position preserves under-sink cabinet depth and simplifies P-trap routing in tight installations. The sink ships complete with a custom bottom grid and a basket strainer, so no additional accessories are required to put it into service.
Designed as an undermount installation for base cabinets smaller than 33 inches, with a minimum recommended cabinet width of 30 inches. Included accessories: bottom grid DSM-BG2718 and basket strainer DSA-PBSSS.
Installation of undermount sinks should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified finish carpenter, as the mounting method requires secure adhesive and mechanical fastening to the underside of the countertop. Shut off water supply lines before beginning drain rough-in work. Follow local plumbing code requirements for drain sizing and P-trap configuration. Do not overtighten the basket strainer locknut, as this can distort the drain seat on a stainless steel sink.
