The DAKOTA PLUMBING PRODUCTS DSM-2718 is a single-bowl undermount kitchen sink constructed from 16-gauge 304 stainless steel with an 18/10 chrome and nickel composition for corrosion resistance and long-term durability. The sink measures 27.375 inches in length, 18.375 inches in width, and 10.375 inches in depth, with a bowl interior of approximately 25.375 by 16.375 by 10.375 inches. Micro-radius corners at 15 millimeters simplify interior cleaning and deliver a contemporary profile. A rear-positioned 3.5-inch center drain with a channeled basin floor promotes fast drainage and reduces standing water. Thermal undercoating and oversized sound-dampening pads are applied to the underside to control vibration and condensation. Licensed plumbers and kitchen remodelers install this sink as a direct undermount application beneath solid-surface or stone countertops.
The DSM-2718 is suited for residential kitchens and bar areas requiring an undermount configuration in base cabinets under 33 inches wide. Its compact footprint makes it compatible with standard 30-inch base cabinet installations without sacrificing bowl depth. The Satin Brushed Nickel finish is one of several color options in the Marela collection, which also includes Silver, Gold, Copper, and Gunmetal Black, allowing the sink to coordinate across a range of kitchen aesthetics. Each unit ships with a custom bottom grid (DSM-BG2718) and a basket strainer (DSA-PBSSS) included in the box, reducing the need for separate accessory orders at rough-in.
Designed for undermount installation in residential kitchen and bar applications with base cabinets under 33 inches wide. Fits standard 30-inch base cabinet configurations based on stated overall dimensions.
Undermount sink installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or an experienced kitchen installer. Shut off the water supply and disconnect existing drain lines before removing the old sink. The sink must be supported with manufacturer-approved mounting hardware and silicone adhesive rated for undermount use; follow the countertop fabricator's specifications for cutout dimensions and edge clearance. Verify local plumbing code requirements, referencing IPC standards where applicable, before completing drain rough-in.
