The DAIKIN capta2422a3 is a cased upflow/downflow evaporator coil designed for residential split-system air conditioners and heat pumps. Built to A2L refrigerant compliance standards, it operates on R-32 and comes with a factory-installed TXV metering device, eliminating the need for field-supplied metering components. The coil features all-aluminum tubing and corrugated aluminum fin construction, rated for airflow up to 1,300 CFM and suitable for 1.5 to 2 ton system applications. The cabinet is finished in a nickel gray, leather grain-embossed galvanized shell and measures 22 inches high, 14 inches wide, and 21 inches deep. A rust-resistant thermoplastic drain pan is included.
This coil is suited for cooling-only and heat pump split systems in residential applications where R-32 refrigerant is specified. The upflow/downflow configuration makes it adaptable to a range of air handler or furnace installations. The factory-installed TXV supports accurate refrigerant metering across the rated capacity range, reducing field setup time. HVAC technicians installing new equipment or performing coil replacements in systems requiring A2L-compatible components will find this coil ready for direct integration.
Designed for use with split-system air conditioners and heat pumps using R-32 refrigerant at 1.5 to 2 ton nominal capacity. Suitable for cooling and heat pump applications as specified by the CAPTA Series product line.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with A2L refrigerant handling requirements and applicable local codes. Shut down and lockout/tagout all electrical power and refrigerant flow before beginning coil installation or replacement. Liquid line connection is 3/8 inches and suction line connection is 3/4 inches — verify system line sizes before connecting. Ensure the condensate drain pan and drain line are properly pitched and unobstructed before startup.
