The CUSTOM BLDG PRODUCTS CBTSW50 is a white standard thin set mortar packaged in a 50-pound bag. It is a dry-set cement-based mortar used to bond tile and pavers to floor substrates in residential and light commercial applications. The mortar meets ANSI A118.1 for standard dry-set performance and meets ANSI A118.4.11 when mixed with an acrylic mortar admix. It incorporates Moldgard Technology to resist mold and mildew growth in wet or humid environments. Licensed tile setters and flooring contractors are the primary installers, though experienced DIYers with proper substrate preparation can use it as well.
The CBTSW50 is well suited for general floor tile installations including ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone. It is specifically noted as a good choice for setting Saltillo and other clay pavers, which require a mortar that accommodates their natural variation and porosity. It provides economy with reliable bond strength for most standard tile projects, making it a practical choice for production floor work where coverage and cost efficiency matter.
Designed for setting ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, Saltillo, and other clay pavers on floor substrates in standard thin-set mortar applications.
This product is installed by licensed tile setters or flooring contractors following ANSI A108 installation methods. Substrate must be clean, flat, and structurally sound before application. Mix only as much mortar as can be used within the working time, and avoid remixing or adding water after initial set begins. When enhanced bond performance is required, substitute an acrylic mortar admix for the mix water in accordance with the admix manufacturer's instructions.
