The CROWN 7007Q is a water-based zinc cold galvanizing compound supplied in a 32 oz bottle with a 13.00 oz net fill of active compound. It applies a gray zinc coating to bare, corroded, or damaged metal surfaces to restore corrosion protection without hot-dip galvanizing equipment. The compound meets multiple military and ASTM standards, making it suitable for demanding industrial and infrastructure applications. Maintenance technicians, pipefitters, ironworkers, and coating contractors use it as a field-applied repair solution for galvanized surfaces that have been welded, cut, abraded, or otherwise stripped of their protective zinc layer.
The CROWN 7007Q is used across a wide range of industries and environments. Designed as an OEM-style repair coating for galvanized steel and iron surfaces requiring field restoration of zinc protection, consistent with ASTM A 780 repair procedures for hot-dip galvanized coatings.
Surface preparation is critical before application — remove rust, mill scale, grease, and loose coatings to bare metal per standard coating preparation practices. Apply only when ambient and surface temperatures are between 60 and 90 degrees F. Follow all applicable OSHA and site-specific safety requirements, including appropriate PPE for coating operations.
