The CRESCENT CDDS26N is a deep hand socket designed for 3/8 inch drive ratchets and torque wrenches. It accepts a 7/16 inch fastener with a 6-point hex profile for solid contact and reduced rounding on hex fasteners. The socket has an overall length of 2.5 inches, giving it the reach needed to seat on recessed or stubbed fasteners that a standard-depth socket cannot access. It is finished in nickel chrome plating for corrosion resistance and is constructed from alloy steel. This socket is a standard hand tool used by HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, and general mechanical trades on both service and installation work.
This socket fits residential and commercial service applications where a 7/16 inch SAE fastener sits below a surface or behind an obstruction. Typical uses include equipment panel fasteners, pipe hanger hardware, electrical junction box bolts, and similar recessed hex fasteners encountered in mechanical and electrical trades. The deep profile also allows driving over threaded rod or extended stud bolts without bottoming out. It is tether-capable, making it suitable for work at heights where dropped-tool control is required.
Designed for use with 3/8 inch drive ratchets, extensions, and torque wrenches. Accepts 7/16 inch SAE hex fasteners. Compatible with any standard 3/8 inch square drive tool system.
Install and remove with a 3/8 inch drive ratchet, breaker bar, or calibrated torque wrench as the application requires. Inspect the socket for cracks or deformation before use and replace any damaged socket immediately. Do not use hand sockets with impact drivers unless the socket is impact-rated. When working on energized electrical equipment, confirm power is isolated before applying any hand tools to fasteners.
