The CRC INDUSTRIES 05002 Freeze-Off Super Penetrant is an aerosol rust and corrosion release compound used by plumbers, HVAC technicians, mechanics, and maintenance professionals to free seized, rusted, and corroded fasteners and fittings. The formula works by delivering an immediate temperature drop to the contact area upon application. This freezing action micro-cracks corroded and rusted surfaces, allowing the penetrating carrier fluid to migrate deeper into threads and joints than conventional penetrants. The result is faster break-free performance on stubborn hardware. The formulation is a low VOC liquid that sprays clear with an orange appearance and ships in a 20 oz aerosol can.
This penetrant is suited for a wide range of trade and maintenance applications. Plumbers use it on corroded supply stops, union fittings, and galvanized pipe threads. HVAC technicians reach for it on seized cabinet screws, condenser unit fasteners, and refrigerant line fittings. It is also used on boats and watersports equipment, agricultural machinery, household plumbing fixtures, automobiles, and sporting goods. Any application where rust, scale, or corrosion has locked a threaded or press-fit connection is a candidate for this product.
Designed for use on rusted and corroded threaded fasteners, fittings, bolts, nuts, and mechanical connections found in plumbing fixtures, automobiles, boats and watersports equipment, agricultural equipment, household items, and sporting goods.
Application is performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, electricians, and general maintenance trades as part of routine service and repair work. Before applying to any pressurized plumbing or gas line fitting, shut off the associated supply and relieve system pressure per local code requirements. Apply in a well-ventilated area; aerosol propellants and solvents require adequate airflow and ignition-source awareness. Allow dwell time before applying torque to the fastener to let the penetrant work into the corrosion layer.
