The CRC INDUSTRIES 02150 is a chlorinated aerosol splice cleaner formulated for use on the semi-conductive cores of high voltage cables during splicing and terminating operations. Dispensed as a clear, fast-evaporating liquid, it removes contaminants from cable surfaces without leaving residue. It carries a dielectric strength of 41,100 volts and a cleaning strength of 96 Kb, making it suited for critical high voltage cable work. The formula is non-conductive, non-corrosive, non-flammable, and non-staining. The 16 oz aerosol can replaces 1,1,1-Trichloroethane-based cleaners without sacrificing cleaning performance. RoHS compliant and NSF K2 registered.
This cleaner is intended for use by electricians and cable splicing technicians working on high voltage cable systems in industrial, utility, and commercial environments. Its primary application is preparing semi-conductive shield layers on medium and high voltage cables prior to splicing and terminating. The NSF K2 registration also makes it acceptable for use in meat and poultry processing plant environments where incidental food contact is a concern. The fast-dry aerosol format allows controlled application directly to cable surfaces in the field.
Designed for cleaning the semi-conductive cores of high voltage cables during splicing and terminating procedures. Suitable for use in applications where 1,1,1-Trichloroethane cleaners were previously specified.
This product is applied by licensed electricians or qualified cable splicing technicians. De-energize and lock out the cable system fully before any splicing or terminating work begins. Apply the aerosol to the semi-conductive layer and allow complete evaporation before proceeding with the splice. Work in a ventilated area and follow all applicable OSHA, NEC, and site safety guidelines for high voltage cable work.
