The CRC INDUSTRIES 02064 is a non-chlorinated, non-flammable aerosol cable degreaser formulated to clean semi-conductive cores and contact surfaces on high-voltage cables. It removes contaminants quickly, helping prevent current leakage, excessive resistance, and arcing that can compromise cable integrity. The formula delivers a clear, colorless liquid that evaporates cleanly without leaving residue. At 2 pounds per can, it is practical for field work and shop use alike. NSF K2 Registered and not subject to RCRA reporting requirements, this degreaser meets the compliance needs of licensed electrical contractors working in commercial and industrial environments.
The 02064 is intended for use during high-voltage cable splicing and termination work. Electricians apply it to semi-conductive cores to strip away grease, oil, and surface contaminants before making a splice or termination. Clean cable surfaces are critical to reducing resistance and preventing arcing at the splice point. The aerosol delivery format allows controlled, targeted application in tight conduit vaults, manholes, and panel enclosures where brush or rag application is impractical.
Designed for cleaning semi-conductive cores of high-voltage cables during splicing and termination operations. Consult the product technical data sheet to confirm suitability with specific cable jacket and insulation materials before use.
Licensed electricians should de-energize and lock out the cable circuit per NFPA 70E safe work practices before applying any cleaning product to cable surfaces. Allow the degreaser to fully evaporate and the surface to dry before proceeding with splicing, termination, or re-energizing. Use in areas with adequate ventilation even though the formula is non-flammable. Follow all local codes and manufacturer splice-kit instructions for the complete termination procedure.
