The COXREELS EZ-SDL-100 is a static discharge cable reel built for use in combustible and hazardous environments where uncontrolled static buildup poses a risk of ignition or explosion. Part of the COXREELS SD Series, this reel features the patented EZ-Coil drive system, a lubricated and enclosed cartridge-style motor that retracts cable up to 80 percent slower than conventional spring-driven reels, reducing shock loads and snap-back hazards. The reel is constructed with CNC robotically spun and ribbed steel discs with rolled edges, a solid one-piece steel base and support post, and a chip-resistant CPC powder coat finish. Licensed electricians, HVAC technicians, and industrial service professionals working around fuel dispensing, chemical storage, or other flammable-atmosphere applications typically install this unit.
The EZ-SDL-100 is designed for deployment in combustible environments where grounding or static dissipation is required before transferring flammable materials. It is commonly paired with fuel hose reels in refueling stations, fleet maintenance facilities, tank farms, and similar industrial settings. The reel accommodates 100 feet of cable and mounts in multiple orientations including wall, floor, ceiling, and vehicle installations via the adjustable multi-position aluminum guide arm. The sturdy single-pedestal base provides stability across fixed and mobile service platforms.
Designed as an OEM-style static discharge and grounding cable reel suitable for combustible-environment service applications; commonly paired with fuel hose reels in refueling and chemical transfer installations.
Installation in hazardous or classified locations must comply with applicable local codes and NFPA standards governing grounding and bonding in flammable-atmosphere areas. Disconnect and de-energize all related equipment and verify the area is clear of ignition sources before mounting or servicing this reel. Use appropriate fasteners for the mounting surface type; the multi-position guide arm should be secured firmly before placing the reel in service. Maintenance and cartridge motor removal should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with static control equipment.
