The COVIDIEN CVDS2GH100651 is a 2-gallon sharps container designed for the safe collection and disposal of used needles, syringes, and other sharps in medical, clinical, and laboratory environments. It features a large horizontal drop lid that limits access to disposed items while accommodating a wide range of sharps sizes. The container body and lid are molded from plastics and pigments rated safe for both autoclave sterilization and incineration, supporting compliant end-of-life processing. A built-in locking mechanism secures the container for final disposal. Licensed healthcare professionals and medical waste handlers are the primary installers and users of this product.
This container is suited for use in hospitals, clinics, physician offices, laboratories, and similar medical settings where regulated sharps waste is generated. The horizontal drop-lid design maximizes usable interior volume, reducing how often the container needs to be changed out. Empty units nest together, making storage of unused stock efficient in supply rooms or carts. Wall mounting brackets are available separately, allowing the container to be mounted off the counter to reduce surface clutter in exam rooms or procedure areas.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use sharps container for medical, clinical, and laboratory sharps waste disposal programs. Wall mounting brackets are sold separately and are not included.
Sharps containers should be installed and serviced by qualified healthcare facility staff or licensed medical waste management personnel in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulated medical waste disposal codes. Mount or place the container at a height that prevents overfilling and limits access by unauthorized individuals. Do not attempt to open, compress, or manually empty the container once it is locked for disposal. Follow your facility's regulated medical waste handling procedures when transporting a sealed container for pickup or incineration.
