The COPPERFIT 9015 is a 1-1/2 inch copper street 90-degree elbow used to change flow direction in copper piping systems. A street elbow has one plain end and one socket end, allowing it to connect directly into the socket of a fitting without a short nipple. This eliminates an extra joint in tight spaces and reduces overall system length. Plumbers install this fitting in residential and light commercial supply lines, drain systems, and hydronic applications wherever a 90-degree turn is needed in a 1-1/2 inch copper line.
This fitting is suited for use in potable water supply, heating, and general plumbing piping systems using 1-1/2 inch copper tubing. The street configuration makes it particularly useful in close-quarter installations where back-to-back fittings are required or where clearance does not allow a standard coupling-and-elbow combination. Licensed plumbers typically install this component during rough-in or repair work on residential and light commercial copper piping systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard installation fitting for 1-1/2 inch copper tubing systems following ASTM standards for copper pressure fittings.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber using standard copper soldering (sweat) technique with lead-free solder per IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and fully drain the line before cutting and fitting. Clean both the plain end and socket with emery cloth and apply flux before soldering. Avoid overheating the fitting, as excessive heat can damage adjacent fittings or cause voids in the solder joint.
