The COPPERFIT 2225 is a copper female fitting adapter designed to transition between a spigot (C) end and a female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connection. At 1-1/2 inches, this adapter allows a copper pipe or fitting to connect directly into a threaded female port on valves, fixtures, or other threaded components. It is a standard plumbing fitting used in residential and light commercial water distribution systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of adapter wherever a copper sweat connection must mate to an NPT-threaded female fitting without a separate union or coupling.
This adapter is suited for potable water supply lines, drain applications where copper-to-threaded transitions are required, and general plumbing rough-in work. The spigot end is sized to slip inside a standard 1-1/2 inch copper fitting socket for soldering, while the FIPT end accepts a male-threaded pipe or fitting. It is a common component in both new construction and retrofit plumbing work where mixed-connection systems are encountered.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for 1-1/2 inch copper plumbing systems requiring a spigot-to-FIPT transition.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and local jurisdiction requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before soldering or making any threaded connections. The spigot end requires proper flux application and lead-free solder for potable water service per applicable codes. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT fitting before engaging the FIPT end to ensure a leak-free connection.
