The COPPERFIT 2221 is a copper female fitting adapter designed to transition between a spigot (C) end and a female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connection. With a 1/2 inch spigot end and a 1/2 inch FIPT end, this adapter allows a copper sweat connection to mate with a female-threaded fitting or valve. It is a standard plumbing fitting used in residential and light commercial water distribution systems. Plumbers install this adapter where a copper supply line needs to connect to a threaded component such as a valve body, fixture supply, or threaded port on equipment.
This adapter suits residential and light commercial plumbing applications where copper tubing transitions to a threaded connection are required. Typical scenarios include connecting copper water supply lines to threaded shutoff valves, angle stops, or threaded equipment inlets. The spigot end is sized to slip inside a standard 1/2 inch copper fitting socket for soldering, while the FIPT end accepts a male-threaded pipe or fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for residential and light commercial copper plumbing systems using 1/2 inch copper tubing with NPT threaded connections.
Installation of this fitting is performed by a licensed plumber. The spigot end is soldered into a standard copper fitting socket following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and drain the line before soldering. Do not apply thread sealant or tape to the spigot end; use appropriate thread sealant on the FIPT connection when joining to a male-threaded fitting.
