The COPPERFIT 1A1677 is a 3-inch spigot-by-socket ABS DWV street 45-degree elbow used in drain, waste, and vent piping systems. The street configuration means the male spigot end inserts directly into a fitting socket, eliminating the need for a short coupling or nipple at the transition point. Fabricated from ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) plastic, this elbow is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and compatible with standard solvent-cement joining methods. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in residential and light commercial DWV rough-in work where a 45-degree change in drain line direction is required.
This elbow fits into ABS DWV systems requiring a 45-degree offset in horizontal or vertical drain runs. The spigot end allows it to slip into an existing hub fitting or a pipe coupling, while the socket end accepts standard 3-inch ABS pipe. It is commonly used in below-slab, in-wall, and under-floor drain configurations in residential construction, remodels, and service replacements. The 3-inch size is a standard diameter for branch drains, closet flanges, and main horizontal drain lines in residential plumbing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for 3-inch ABS DWV drain, waste, and vent piping systems following standard solvent-weld joining procedures.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Before cutting into an existing DWV line, confirm the system is depressurized and the work area is clear of waste flow. Clean and dry all mating surfaces, apply ABS primer where required by local code, and use a full coat of ABS solvent cement on both the spigot end and the receiving socket before joining. Hold the joint firmly for the manufacturer-recommended cure time before allowing flow through the line.
