The COPELAND ZPD34K5ETFD is a digital scroll compressor rated at 34,600 BTU/h with a 2-3/4 horsepower motor operating on 460 volts, 3-phase power. Designed for use with R410A refrigerant, this compressor uses Copeland digital scroll technology to modulate capacity in response to system demand rather than cycling on and off. That modulation improves efficiency, reduces temperature swings, and lowers mechanical wear compared to standard fixed-capacity scroll compressors. Licensed HVAC technicians install this unit in commercial and light-commercial refrigeration and air conditioning applications where precise capacity control is required.
The ZPD34K5ETFD is suited for light-commercial and commercial cooling systems operating on 3-phase power infrastructure. It is commonly installed in rooftop units, split systems, and precision cooling equipment where variable capacity output and stable suction pressure are critical to system performance. The digital scroll design allows capacity modulation without the need for variable-speed drive hardware, making it a practical choice for retrofit and new-equipment installations in demanding environments.
Designed as an OEM-style digital scroll compressor for light-commercial and commercial 3-phase HVAC and refrigeration systems using R410A refrigerant at 460 volts.
Installation must be performed by an EPA 608-certified HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power and recover system refrigerant before removing the existing compressor. Follow the equipment manufacturer's guidelines and applicable mechanical and electrical codes when brazing refrigerant lines, wiring contactor controls, and verifying oil charge. Do not start the compressor without confirming proper refrigerant charge, oil level, and phase rotation.
