The COPELAND PT800NL is a straight, top-bar slide-stop pitless adapter made from bronze alloy and manufactured to lead-free standards. It is designed to create a watertight connection between a submersible pump drop pipe and the service line exiting a well casing, allowing the pipe to pass through the casing wall without an underground fitting pit. The adapter accepts a 1-inch Size A and 1-inch Size B connection and is rated for a load capacity of 900 pounds. It meets NSF/ANSI 372 and PAS-97 standards, making it a code-compliant choice for potable water well installations. Licensed well drillers and plumbing contractors are the primary installers of this fitting.
The PT800NL is suited for residential and light commercial well applications using nominal well casings ranging from 5 to 12 inches in diameter. The casing hole opening required is 1-3/4 inches. Its cast bronze alloy construction holds up in direct-burial, below-grade conditions typical of drilled well installations. The slide-stop design allows the drop pipe assembly to be lifted and lowered without excavation, which simplifies future service calls on the pump or piping below grade.
Designed for use in drilled well systems with nominal casing diameters of 5 to 12 inches. Requires a 1-3/4-inch casing hole opening. Intended as an OEM-style direct installation fitting for standard 1-inch potable water well service connections.
Installation of a pitless adapter is typically performed by a licensed well driller or journeyman plumber in accordance with applicable state well construction codes and IAPMO or local authority guidelines. Shut off all power to the submersible pump before lowering or extracting the drop pipe assembly. A pitless adapter installation tool is required to seat and unseat the slide-stop body through the well cap opening. Inspect the rubber inner and outer gaskets for proper seating against the casing wall before securing the assembly to ensure a watertight, sanitary seal.
