The COPELAND PS4060 is a diaphragm-operated water pressure switch rated for 40/60 psi cut-in and cut-off service. It connects via a 1/4 inch female threaded port and houses its internal components in a NEMA 1 plastic enclosure. The switch monitors line pressure in water supply systems and signals the pump motor to start at 40 psi and stop at 60 psi, maintaining consistent system pressure without manual intervention. Licensed plumbers and pump service technicians install this switch as part of new pump system builds or as a direct replacement in existing installations.
The PS4060 is suited for residential and light commercial water supply applications. Compatible pump types include jet pumps, submersible pumps, water pumps, and reciprocating pumps. It is commonly installed at the pressure tank tee or near the pump discharge line where it can sense system pressure directly. The plastic enclosure keeps the unit compact and suitable for indoor, non-corrosive environments covered under NEMA 1 ratings.
Designed for use with water pumps, jet pumps, submersible pumps, and reciprocating pumps in residential and light commercial pressure systems.
A licensed plumber or pump service technician should perform installation in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off power to the pump motor at the disconnect or breaker panel before removing or installing the pressure switch. Depressurize the system and relieve any water pressure before threading the switch into the supply line. Do not over-tighten the threaded connection, as the plastic enclosure is not designed to bear excessive mechanical load.
