The COPELAND cic100bsu14enl is a lead-free cast brass union tank tee designed for use in potable water and hydronic plumbing systems. This long-pattern tank cross fitting measures 1 inch by 14 inches overall and incorporates internal and external threads that reduce the number of additional fittings required during installation. The fitting includes two 1/2 inch drain ports and two 1/4 inch top ports, allowing direct connection to expansion tanks or storage tanks without separate air chambers. Its cast brass construction delivers reliable corrosion resistance in residential and light commercial applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers for this type of fitting.
This tank tee is suited for residential and commercial potable water systems, hydronic heating setups, and pressure tank installations. The long-pattern design reduces turbulence and water logging within tanks, eliminating the need for separate air chambers. The male-threaded by male-threaded by male-threaded end connections allow straightforward integration into existing threaded pipe assemblies. It meets NSF/ANSI 372 and IAPMO standards, making it appropriate for lead-free compliant installations required in many jurisdictions.
Designated size is 1 inch x 1 inch x 3/4 inch. Designed as an OEM-style threaded replacement for tank tee and tank cross applications in standard NPT threaded potable water and hydronic plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure completely before removing any existing fitting or installing this unit. Use appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape on all male threaded connections and verify all ports are oriented correctly before pressurizing the system. Inspect all joints for leaks after restoring pressure.
