The COOPER WIRING DEVICES VS306U-W is a passive infrared vacancy sensor wall switch designed to control lighting loads in commercial and residential indoor spaces. Unlike occupancy sensors, vacancy sensors require a manual-on action and turn lights off automatically when no motion is detected, supporting energy code compliance. The VS306U-W covers up to 450 square feet with a 180-degree detection pattern and supports a wide range of load types including incandescent, fluorescent, CFL, LED, halogen, electronic and magnetic fluorescent ballasts, and electrical motor loads. It operates at 120 VAC and is rated at 600 watts for both incandescent and fluorescent applications. Manual delay adjustment allows field tuning of the off-delay period to suit the installed environment. The unit ships in a white finish. Licensed electricians perform the installation.

The VS306U-W is suited for indoor applications where vacancy-based lighting control is required by energy codes, including California Title 24.
