The COOPER BUSSMANN LPS-RK-10SP is a Class RK1 time-delay cartridge fuse rated at 10 amps and designed for general-purpose overcurrent protection in industrial and commercial electrical systems. The cartridge body measures 5 inches in overall length and 20.6 mm in diameter, fitting standard RK1 fuse holders. With an interrupting rating of 100 kA at DC and 300 kA at AC (RMS), this fuse delivers robust fault-current protection. A two-element design provides the time-delay characteristic needed to ride through harmless inrush currents while still responding quickly to sustained overloads and short circuits. It is a non-indicating type. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
The LPS-RK-10SP is suited for branch-circuit and feeder protection in motor control centers, panelboards, and disconnect switches where Class RK1 performance is required. Its time-delay action makes it appropriate for circuits serving motors, transformers, and other inductive loads that draw elevated inrush current at startup. The fuse mounts in a standard RK1 fuse holder and is intended for both new installations and direct replacement of existing Class RK1 cartridge fuses in residential, commercial, and light-industrial applications where space and holder dimensions match the 5-inch cartridge format.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for Class RK1 cartridge fuse positions requiring a 10-amp, 5-inch time-delay fuse in a standard RK1 fuse holder.
Installation and replacement must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. Always de-energize and lock out the circuit before removing or installing any fuse. Verify the fuse holder is rated for Class RK1 cartridges and that the replacement amperage matches the circuit protection requirements exactly. Do not substitute a non-time-delay fuse on motor circuits without verifying that the circuit design accommodates the change.
