The COOPER BUSSMANN LPJ-7SP is a Class J time delay cartridge fuse rated at 7 amps for use in industrial and commercial electrical systems. It features a two-element design that tolerates temporary inrush currents without nuisance tripping while still providing reliable overcurrent protection. The fuse measures 2.25 inches in length and 20.6 mm in diameter, fitting standard Class J fuse holders. With an interrupting rating of 300 kA at AC (RMS) and 100 kA at DC, it is suited for high-fault-current environments. Licensed electricians and electrical maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this component.
This fuse is appropriate for use in motor branch circuits, control panels, and power distribution equipment where Class J fusing is specified. The time delay characteristic makes it well matched to applications with motor loads or transformer inrush, where a fast-acting fuse would open unnecessarily on startup. It mounts in any standard Class J fuse holder and is sold individually, though the minimum order quantity is 5 units.
Designed for use in standard Class J fuse holders. Verify holder amperage rating and voltage rating match the circuit requirements before installation.
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before removing or installing the fuse. Confirm the fuse holder is rated for the voltage and amperage of the circuit. Never replace a fuse with one of a higher amperage rating than what the circuit is designed for.
