The COOPER BUSSMANN LPJ-110SP is a Class J time delay cartridge fuse rated at 110 amps, designed for general-purpose overcurrent protection in industrial and commercial electrical systems. It delivers an interrupting rating of 100 kA at DC and 300 kA at AC (RMS), making it suitable for circuits where high available fault current is a concern. The dual-element, time delay design allows the fuse to hold through temporary motor inrush and transformer magnetizing currents without nuisance opening, while still providing fast response to sustained overloads and short-circuit faults. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
This fuse is used in Class J fusible disconnect switches, combination motor starters, and panel-mounted fuseholders in both commercial and industrial installations. The bolt-on mount type and 5.75-inch overall length conform to Class J dimensional standards, making it a direct fit in equipment designed for that fuse class. At 110 amps, it is commonly applied on motor branch circuits, feeder circuits, and equipment with high inrush demands where a time delay characteristic is specified by the equipment manufacturer or system designer.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fuse for Class J fuseholders, fusible disconnects, and combination motor starters requiring a 110-amp, time delay, cartridge-style fuse with a 5.75-inch overall length.
Installation should be performed by a qualified licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit at the upstream overcurrent device before removing or installing the fuse. Verify that the fuseholder is rated for Class J fuses and that the replacement amperage matches the circuit design. Never substitute a fuse of a higher amperage rating than specified for the protected circuit.
