The COOPER BUSSMANN KTK-3-1/2 is a cartridge-style, fast-acting fuse rated at 3.5 amps and 600 volts AC, designed for general-purpose overcurrent protection in control circuits and light-duty electrical systems. The fuse body is constructed from melamine and measures 1.5 inches in overall length with a 10.3 mm diameter, fitting standard fuse holders used across industrial and commercial panels. It carries an interrupting rating of 100 kA at AC, making it suitable for high-fault-current environments. Licensed electricians and control panel technicians install this fuse as part of branch-circuit or equipment-protection assemblies where fast-clearing characteristics are required to protect sensitive downstream components.
This fuse is suited for use in control panels, instrumentation enclosures, and light industrial equipment operating at up to 600 volts AC. Its fast-acting response time makes it appropriate for circuits without high inrush loads, such as resistive loads and low-current signal circuits. The compact cartridge form factor allows direct installation into midget fuse holders commonly found in motor control centers, HVAC control boards, and process control cabinets in both commercial and light industrial settings.
Designed for use in standard midget cartridge fuse holders accommodating a 10.3 mm diameter, 1.5-inch length form factor, as commonly specified in general-purpose control circuit and instrumentation panel applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for overcurrent protection. De-energize and lock out the circuit before removing or inserting the fuse. Verify the fuse holder is rated for the circuit voltage and that the replacement fuse amperage matches the circuit protection requirements exactly. Do not substitute a fuse of a higher amperage rating to restore a tripped circuit without first identifying and correcting the fault condition.
