The COOPER BUSSMANN ECSR90 is a time-delay, current-limiting, dual-element fuse rated at 90 amps and 600 volts. It carries a Class RK5 designation and delivers superior overload and cycling performance, making it well suited for motor-load protection where inrush current would otherwise cause nuisance opens. The dual-element design separates the overload element from the short-circuit element, allowing the fuse to hold through temporary overloads of up to 500 percent for 10 seconds while still providing a 200 kAIC interrupting rating. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians are the typical installers.
This fuse is used in motor branch circuits, motor control centers, and combination starters in both commercial and industrial settings. Its blade-end-to-blade-end termination fits standard Class RK5 fuse holders and fusible disconnect switches. The non-indicating body keeps the form factor clean for standard panel installations. Applications include HVAC compressor circuits, pump motors, and fan arrays where cycling loads demand a fuse that can ride through normal inrush without sacrificing fault protection.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for Class RK5 dual-element time-delay fuse positions in standard 600-volt fusible disconnect switches and motor control enclosures.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lockout/tagout the circuit at the upstream disconnect before removing or inserting the fuse. Use an insulated fuse puller rated for the voltage and amperage of the circuit. Verify that the replacement fuse ampere rating and class match the overcurrent protection requirements of the load and the markings on the disconnect enclosure.
