The COOPER BUSSMANN ECSR80 is a time-delay, current-limiting, dual element fuse rated for 80 amps at 600 volts. It carries a Class RK5 rating and delivers superior overload and cycling protection for motor branch circuits, feeder circuits, and other inductive loads. The dual element design separates the overload and short-circuit elements, allowing the fuse to ride through harmless inrush currents while still clearing dangerous fault conditions rapidly. The ECSR80 features blade end terminations on both ends and is non-indicating. Interrupting capacity is rated at 200 kAIC, making it suitable for installations with high available fault current.
This fuse is intended for use in motor circuits, HVAC equipment, and industrial control panels where time-delay performance is required to prevent nuisance opening during motor startup inrush. The 10-second delay at 500 percent of rated current gives the fuse enough tolerance for high-inrush applications without sacrificing fault protection. It fits standard Class RK5 fuseholders and fused disconnect switches commonly found in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical systems. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this component.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for Class RK5 dual element time-delay fuses in standard 600-volt fuseholders and fused disconnect switches.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before removing or installing fuses. Verify the fuseholder is rated for Class RK5 fuses and confirm the voltage and ampere ratings match the circuit requirements before installation. Do not install a fuse with a higher ampere rating than the circuit or equipment is protected for.
