The COOPER BUSSMANN ECNR30 is a 30-amp, 250-volt (125 Vdc) time-delay, current-limiting fuse in the UL Class RK5 rating. It uses a dual-element design that separates the overload response from the short-circuit response, allowing the fuse to hold through normal motor inrush and cycling loads without nuisance opening. The ECNR30 carries a 200 kAIC interrupting rating, making it suitable for high fault-current environments. Ferrule-end construction fits standard Class RK5 fuse holders. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this fuse type.
The ECNR30 is used in motor branch circuits, motor control centers, and general-purpose power distribution panels where load cycling and temporary overloads are common. Its 8-second time-delay characteristic at 500 percent of rated current gives motor loads and other inductive equipment room to start without sacrificing overload protection. This fuse is appropriate for both residential and commercial electrical systems operating at 250 volts AC or up to 125 volts DC.
Designed for use in UL Class RK5 fuse holders and panels rated for 30 A, 250 V AC or 125 V DC service. The ferrule-end construction is compatible with standard Class RK5 and Class K5 fuse blocks and fuse holders.
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before removing or installing the fuse. Verify that the fuse holder is rated for Class RK5 ferrule-end fuses and that the holder voltage and ampere ratings match the application. Do not install a fuse with a higher ampere rating than the circuit or equipment is designed to handle.
