The COOPER BUSSMANN BP/SA-20 is a Type S fuse adapter designed to retrofit standard Edison-base fuse holders for use with Type S rejection-base fuses. The adapter installs permanently into an existing Edison-base socket, converting it to accept only the correct ampere-rated Type S fuse. This prevents the common overfusing hazard caused by installing a higher-rated fuse in a standard socket. Each package includes three adapters rated at 20 amps. Electricians and qualified DIYers install these in residential panelboards, load centers, and fused disconnect boxes where Type S fuse compliance is required.

Type S fuse adapters are used in residential electrical systems where screw-base fuse panels remain in service. The BP/SA-20 is appropriate for 20-amp branch circuits protected by plug fuses.
