The CONTROL DEVICES P2525-1WA is a spring-loaded check valve designed to allow one-directional flow and prevent backflow in fluid or gas piping systems. The body is machined from brass, and both the spring and seal components are stainless steel, providing corrosion resistance in wet or mildly aggressive service environments. The valve uses 1/4-inch NPT connections with female NPT inlet and male NPT outlet ends, making it a direct thread-in replacement in standard pipe runs. It has a crack pressure of 3.00 psi and is rated for operating temperatures from 33 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors install this type of valve in compressed air, water, and refrigerant-adjacent piping circuits.
This check valve is suited for residential and light commercial applications where backflow prevention is required in a compact inline fitting. Common install scenarios include compressed air lines, water supply branches, condensate management lines, and other low-to-medium pressure fluid systems. The 1/4-inch pipe size makes it appropriate for small-bore piping runs where a reliable, low-crack-pressure check valve is needed to maintain system pressure integrity and prevent reverse flow during shutoff or demand cycling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install check valve for 1/4-inch NPT piping systems in HVAC, plumbing, and compressed air applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified mechanical technician in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC guidelines. Depressurize and isolate the piping circuit before removing the existing valve or threading in the new one. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to NPT threads and verify flow-direction orientation before pressurizing the system. Do not exceed the rated temperature or exceed system pressure beyond the valve body rating.
