The CONTROL DEVICES CB50 is a brass inline check valve designed to allow one-directional flow and prevent backflow in fluid or gas piping systems. Sized for 1/2 inch pipe with female NPT connections on both ends, this valve uses a spring-loaded design with a stainless steel spring and PTFE seals to maintain a reliable shutoff. The crack pressure rating of 3.00 psi means the valve opens under minimal forward pressure, making it well suited for low-pressure systems. Rated for operating temperatures from 33 degrees F to 450 degrees F, this valve handles a broad range of service conditions. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the typical installers.
This check valve is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC, and fluid-handling applications where backflow prevention is required on 1/2 inch pipe runs. Common installation scenarios include domestic water supply lines, hydronic heating systems, compressed air lines, and other piping networks where reverse flow would cause system damage or contamination. The FNPT x FNPT end connections thread directly into standard NPT fittings and components without adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation check valve for 1/2 inch NPT piping systems in plumbing, HVAC, and fluid-handling applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off the water or fluid supply and relieve system pressure before disassembly or installation. Verify flow direction arrow or spring orientation before threading the valve into the line, as check valves are directional. Do not overtighten NPT threaded connections; use an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service media.
